Family Celebrations: 5 Beautiful Bar Mitzvahs in One Day!
What do you get when you celebrate five boys’ thirteenth birthdays at the same time? One extraordinary Bar Mitzvah celebration!
This August, we were privileged to lead 5 of our boys into Jewish adulthood. Shmuli, Shmelke, Sasha, Shalom and Sergei have each been with us at least a few years. We’ve watched — and helped — them grow into adulthood. Witnessing them reach this tremendous milestone was exhilarating!
As were the general festivities!
This was a celebration for the whole Mishpacha, done with heart and joy. On this special day, the children from Mishpacha Children’s Home, Rabbis, staff, and community members piled into the Bristol Hotel’s Great Hall for this memorable occasion.
There was a delectable buffet and lavish decorations, but the highlight was, of course, the guests of honor. As the Bar Mitzvah boys recited the Torah portion and delivered the traditional Bar Mitzvah discourse of Isa B’Midrash Tehillim, Rabbi Mendy Wolff beamed with pride.
But nobody was prouder than the boys themselves. With shining faces, they accepted gifts from the community and a special blessing from the Kohanim in the hall. In that moment, they realized how far they’ve come — and how blessed they are to have the greatest Mishpacha.
